Magician P. C. Sorcar
Late Padmashree Jadusamrat P.C. Sorcar (Born in India 1913, died in Japan 1971) who was called the World’s Greatest Magician, made a history in the world of magic by his famous Indrajal. After his death, it was his son Provas Chandra Sorcar who is popularly known as Magician P.C. Sorcar Young carried on the same profession. Now, after PC Sorcar Young, the P.C. Sorcar Legacy still continues as his son Pouroosh alias Magician P.C. Sorcar Master takes over the throne and is declared the official torchbearer of the PC Sorcar Family. Pouroosh or PC Sorcar Master is the only PC Sorcar of the ninth generation of the legendary Sorcar’s magician Family.Pouroosh’s first appearance was in Tokyo, Japan. Since then he has been a full timer illusionist and has staged hundreds of shows in & outside the country.
Pouroosh’s recent performances
Pouroosh’s “Cutting a lady in halves”, “Curse of Chemia” and “Soul through Soul” have been a big strike. Passing through the Deadly Blades of a rotating Industrial Fan is a unique act. Pouroosh revived the old “Great Indian Rope Trick” in an absolute new form, which was telecasted live nation wide. Pouroosh is a master in escape illusions. His fire escape act in a coffin was a big hit and was covered and cherished internationally. He was nailed inside a coffin which was blown up by explosives. Pouroosh managed to escape and reappeared from the ground. Pouroosh recently attempted the grand water escape illusion where he was tied and chained in a bag and was thrown to the river from the ship. Pouroosh was under water for few minutes and came back miraculously uninjured. The same act was performed in late 50s by his grandfather PC Sorcar (senior) in Japan.
Pouroosh, apart from being a Magician is also a musician. He is a vocalist and mastered himself in Piano/ Drums etc. His first album “Earth” comprising of 8 songs has been a smack among the English Rock sphere in India. Achievement: CJC, a magician’s society of India has marked him as the best young magician of 2006 and titled him with Jadu Nakshatra.
